Description
Jag Precision x Taran Tactical International Licensed JW3 (Hammer Strut)
This is a replacement hammer strut for the Jag Precision x Taran Tactical International licensed JW3 gas blowback pistol. The JW3 Combat Master is a licensed replica of the competition-style pistol associated with Taran Tactical Innovations, and Jag Precision produces the airsoft version under licence.
A hammer strut is a small but important internal part. If yours is worn, bent or broken, the pistol may not cock or fire reliably, and a replacement made for the model is the simplest way to get it working properly again. It is also a sensible spare for players who use their JW3 regularly.
What a hammer strut does
In a hammer-fired pistol, the hammer strut links the hammer to its spring. When the slide cycles and cocks the hammer, the strut transfers the spring’s force, so that when you pull the trigger the hammer is driven forward to strike the valve and release gas for the shot. Because it is under spring tension every time the pistol cycles, wear or damage to the strut can cause light strikes, failures to fire or poor cycling.
Fitting
Replacing internal parts in a gas blowback pistol means stripping the frame, so work slowly on a clean surface, take photos as you go and keep small pins and springs in a tray. Make sure the magazine is removed and the pistol is unloaded before you start. If you are not confident working on pistol internals, have the part fitted by an experienced airsoft technician.

Compatibility
Listed for the Jag Precision x Taran Tactical International licensed JW3 gas blowback pistol. Internal parts often differ between makers, even when pistols look alike, so it should not be assumed to fit other brands’ versions. Please check your pistol’s make and model, or contact us, before ordering.
Care and maintenance
When the pistol is apart, clean old grease and dirt from the hammer area and apply a light coat of suitable grease to moving metal parts, without getting any on the valve seals or hop-up rubber. Use silicone oil on the magazine seals rather than on the internals. Check for wear on related parts such as the hammer and its spring at the same time, as worn parts often go together.
Who is it for?
This part is for owners of the Jag Precision JW3 who need to replace a worn or damaged hammer strut, or want a spare in their kit.
