Description
Lancer Tactical LTX Competition GBB Pistol FDE Black
The Lancer Tactical LTX Competition is a gas blowback pistol with a race-gun look, shown here in an FDE and black colour scheme. It combines a ported, lightened slide with an optics-ready cut and a threaded barrel, so it is ready to take a red dot and a muzzle device straight out of the box.
Lancer Tactical has built a strong following for well-specified, affordable replicas, and the LTX is aimed squarely at players who want a fast, modern sidearm for skirmish days or a capable pistol for speed shooting and target practice. It also has a selector for semi and full automatic fire, which makes it great fun on the range and a useful backup in close quarter games.
Build and design
A UK retailer listing describes the slide, outer barrel and controls as alloy, on a high-density polymer frame with a steel slide lock. The slide is ported and weight-reduced, with front serrations for press checks and slide manipulation, and comes with an optics plate fitted. Adapter plates are supplied for several common red dot footprints, which the listing gives as RMR, Docter, STS2 and Shield RMS.
Per the same listing, the outer barrel has a 14mm counter-clockwise (CCW) male thread, protected by a polymer thread protector, and there is a 20mm Picatinny rail under the frame for a light or laser. The pistol weighs approximately 457g and measures about 21.5cm long.
Performance and internals
The listing gives a 6.03mm inner barrel of 113mm and an adjustable TDC hop-up, set from the top of the slide behind the optic plate with the slide locked back. The selector offers safe, semi and full automatic, with a layout the listing compares to the Glock 18C.
In a gas blowback pistol the magazine holds both the BBs and the gas. When you pull the trigger, the hammer strikes a valve in the magazine and releases a burst of gas: part of it sends the BB through the hop-up and down the barrel, and the rest drives the slide back, cocking the hammer and loading the next BB as the slide returns. The result is a pistol that cycles and recoils much like the real thing.
Handling
The FDE and black colour scheme gives the LTX a distinctive competition look. Iron sights are fitted for use without an optic, and safety comes from a trigger safety plus an ambidextrous safety and slide lock, per the listing. Lancer notes that the pistol needs lubricating, so a light coat of silicone oil before first use is a good idea.

Compatibility
The listing gives the LTX as compatible with Lancer Tactical and WE EU17/EU18 series gas magazines, and lists green gas as the propellant. We would still test any new magazine before relying on it in a game. The optic plate takes red dots with the footprints listed above, and the 14mm CCW thread accepts most pistol silencers, tracers and compensators made for that thread.
Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs and the gas recommended in the manual. A holster made for the correct pistol shape, and with room for any optic or muzzle device you fit, will keep the pistol secure on the move.
Care and maintenance
Wipe the moving parts with a thin film of silicone oil now and then, clean the inner barrel with a rod and patch, and use good quality seamless BBs. Never use petroleum-based oils or solvents on seals, and store the replica dry.
Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills, and store magazines with a little gas in them so the seals stay tight. Do not overfill, and in cold weather let magazines warm up naturally rather than heating them.
Who is it for?
The LTX Competition suits players who want a fast, optics-ready sidearm with a competition style, as well as anyone looking for a fun pistol for target practice that can switch to full auto.
Please note: The box contents above are taken from a UK retailer listing of the LTX, so please contact us if you need to confirm what comes with this colour version. Gas and BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye protection when using any airsoft replica, and have it chronographed at your site before play.
