Description
WSB Ripple Jelly Worm 10.5cm – Red
The WSB Ripple Jelly Worm is a soft plastic worm lure in red, 10.5cm long and supplied ten to a packet. It is a simple, inexpensive way to fish a soft lure for predators and inshore sea species, and the generous pack size means you can keep fishing confidently even when a few worms are torn by sharp teeth or lost in snags.
Soft plastics are one of the most versatile lure types an angler can carry. They can be fished fast or slow, on the bottom or in mid-water, and they suit everything from light lure fishing on rivers and canals to rock and harbour fishing on the coast. A packet of these in your bag gives you an easy option to try whenever bait fishing goes quiet.
How it works
The worm has a ribbed body that finishes in a ripple tail. As the lure is pulled through the water the tail flutters and the body wriggles, giving a lifelike swimming movement even on a slow, steady retrieve. Because the material is soft, a fish that grabs it feels something natural in its mouth and is more likely to hold on long enough for you to set the hook.
Using it on the bank
The most common way to fish a jelly worm is threaded onto a jig head: push the hook point in at the nose, run the worm up the shank and bring the point out so the body sits straight. Cast out, let it sink to the depth you want and retrieve with a mix of slow winding, lifts and pauses. It can also be rigged on a weighted or weedless hook for snaggy ground, on a drop-shot rig to hold the lure just off the bottom, or trailed behind a light ledger weight. Red stands out well in coloured water and gives the fish a strong silhouette to home in on.

Compatibility
Hooks and jig heads are not included. Choose a jig head or hook with a shank long enough to hold the worm straight; a crooked worm spins and twists the line rather than swimming properly. These worms can be fished on spinning rods from light lure set-ups upwards. Use a wire or fluorocarbon trace where pike may be present.
Care and maintenance
Keep the worms in their original packet or a dedicated soft-plastic wallet. Soft plastics can react with some hard plastic tackle box trays and can bleed colour onto other lures, so store them separately and out of direct sunlight and heat, which can distort them. A worm that has been torn near the head can often be shortened slightly and re-rigged. Rinse used lures in fresh water after sea fishing and let them dry before putting them away.
Who is it for?
A good choice for anglers trying lure fishing for the first time, for sea anglers wanting a cheap soft lure for harbour and rock fishing, and for anyone who likes to keep a few predator lures in the bag as an alternative to bait.
Please note: Hooks, jig heads and weights are not included.
