Xcortech XT301 UV Pistol Tracer Unit
The Xcortech XT301 is a compact UV tracer unit for airsoft pistols. It screws onto a threaded barrel and lights up glow-in-the-dark BBs as they leave the muzzle, so you can see exactly where your shots are going in dark buildings, at dusk and in night games.
Xcortech is a Taiwanese maker of airsoft electronics, including chronographs, MOSFETs and target systems, and the XT301 is one of the best-known small tracers. Its size and weight make it light enough for a pistol while still working on many rifles with the supplied adapter.
Size and build
UK and Hong Kong retailers list the XT301 at about 60mm long and 29mm in diameter, with an aluminium body weighing around 41g. It has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery charged via Micro USB, with a battery level indicator, and an integrated motion sensor that switches the unit on and off automatically.
Performance
The unit uses UV LEDs on two sides for even illumination and is listed as maintaining the tracer effect up to 35 rounds per second. Battery life is quoted at up to about 20,000 rounds. It is listed for use with green glow-in-the-dark BBs.
Threads
The tracer has an 11mm clockwise thread for pistols, and retailers list a 14mm counter-clockwise adapter as included, so it can also be used on many rifles with 14mm CCW outer barrel threads.

Compatibility
Fits pistols with an 11mm clockwise thread, and rifles with a 14mm counter-clockwise thread using the adapter. Pistols without a threaded barrel need a suitable thread adapter. A USB cable is not listed as included.
Care and maintenance
Charge the unit fully before games and every few months when stored, so the battery is not left flat. Keep the bore of the unit clean, wipe off dust and moisture, and never look into the muzzle to check it is working. Check it is screwed on securely before each game.
