The Vorsk VP-X Black/Chrome BDS is a two-tone 1911-style gas blowback pistol supplied with Vorsk’s BDS compact red dot sight. A chrome slide over a black frame gives it a classic look, while the red dot brings faster, more intuitive aiming to a traditional design.
Vorsk is Nuprol’s gas pistol brand, and the VP-X is its take on the 1911. This BDS package gives you everything you need to start shooting with a red dot straight away, and the two-tone finish makes it one of the smartest-looking pistols in the range.
Build and materials
The VP-X is built mainly from metal alloy, which gives it a solid, well-balanced feel, with high-stipple polymer grips for a secure hold. The black and chrome two-tone finish is a timeless combination on a 1911, and the slim single-stack frame suits a wide range of hand sizes.
The BDS red dot
The supplied BDS is a compact red dot sight from Vorsk. With a red dot you can keep both eyes open and simply put the dot on the target, which is quicker than aligning iron sights and particularly useful when moving or shooting from awkward positions. The BDS is small enough to keep the pistol balanced and easy to handle, and it takes a CR2032 cell.
Performance and handling
As a gas blowback pistol, the VP-X uses gas from the magazine to fire each BB and drive the slide back, giving a crisp, realistic recoil. It fires in semi-automatic. Vorsk rates it for its V6, V8 and V12 GBB fuels, and both gas and CO2 magazines are available for players who want a stronger kick or better performance in cold weather.
The 1911’s straight-back trigger and natural pointing make it easy to shoot accurately, and with the red dot fitted, quick follow-up shots come naturally. It is as enjoyable on a target range as it is as a sidearm in a game.
Getting the best from it
Zero the BDS at the distance you expect to shoot, usually the typical range of a CQB or woodland engagement, by adjusting the dot until it matches where your BBs land with your chosen BB weight. Fire at a steady pace to stop the magazine cooling, and carry a spare magazine in a pouch so you can swap rather than refill mid-game.

Compatibility
Takes Vorsk VP-X magazines in gas and CO2 versions, in standard and extended lengths. It has also been listed as compatible with Raven MEU magazines, but check before buying third-party spares. With the BDS fitted you will need a holster that allows for a pistol optic. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Lubricate the magazine seals with a drop of silicone oil every few fills, avoid overfilling and store magazines with a little gas in them. Keep the slide rails lightly oiled, wipe the chrome with a soft cloth after use and clean the inner barrel periodically. Remove the cell from the BDS for long-term storage and keep the lens clean with a lens cloth.
